The Perth Male Voice Choir is a community-based choir which was established in 1926 and so in 2026 we will be celebrating our Centenary.
We are non-auditioned, have 65 members and sing in four part harmony usually accompanied by a piano. Over recent years we have averaged about 20 performances a year including performances for various charities.
We are very ably led by two outstanding musicians - Ms Simone Bishop our Musical Director and Mr Andrew Angel our accompanist
In 2018 we undertook our first ever overseas tour to South Wales and the Costswolds which culminated in a performance at The Royal Albert Hall in London as part of a mass male choir.
In 2024 we again travelled to the United Kingdom and performed six concerts in thirteen days in Chester and various venues in North Wales. We are members of the Male Choral Association of Australia and participated in its Triennial Festivals in Sydney in 2022 and Adelaide in 2025. We are hosting the next Festival in Perth in 2028.
We are planning a big year of celebrations in 2026 for our Centenary including a concert at the Fremantle Town Hall on 14th August exactly one hundred years to the day of our first ever concert and in the same venue.
Apart from the usual celebratory gala dinner a gala concert with WA Brass on 1st November. and multiple other performances we are also planning visits to Bunbury and Kalgoorlie.
We are proud of our long history and hope to establish a fund to support our ongoing development and support for the next generation of choristers. This promotional video provides an insight into the Choir's activities and achievements: Perth Male Voice Choir Centenary 2026
